The M100T and M5000T are compact, self-contained shaft rotation monitoring speed switches ideal for detecting unwanted slowdown or stoppage of process equipment. They have a terminal block inside the housing for easy wiring connection, calibration, and installation. The M100T has a relay setpoint range of between 5 rpm and 100 rpm. The M5000T has a relay setpoint range of between 100 rpm and 5,000 rpm; this is the range where the relay can be set to trip.

In the event of a rotational failure, such as broken drives, belt slippage, product overloads, clogs and jams, the SPDT 5-Amp control relay can be used to provide equipment shut down and/or alarm. This detection of a developing problem enables proactive maintenance to prevent equipment damage, product waste, and excessive downtime.

Speed switches are commonly used to monitor shaft speed on: drivetrains, power-driven components, crushers, exhaust fans, screw conveyors, or tail pulleys on belt conveyors and elevator legs.

The LRB1000 (single relay, 1 setpoint) and LRB2000 (double relay, 2 setpoints) shaft speed switches are an efficient way to continuously monitor machine rpm and provide relay protection upon detection of an unwanted change in speed or stoppage of the monitored shaft. The LRB1000 and LRB2000 are completely field adjustable while the machinery is at rest; there is no need to run the shaft. They feature visual setpoint adjustment for dial-in ease and the precise digital circuitry provides high accuracy, repeatability, and reliability.

The DR1000 speed switch is ideal for detecting unwanted slowdown or stoppage of process equipment and is commonly applied to drive trains, power driven components, crushers, exhaust fans, screw conveyors, tail pulleys on belt conveyors, and elevators.  The DR1000 has a Explosion-Proof housing for use in Class I, Div I (C, D) Class II, Div I (E, F, G) Class III environments.  

The DR1000 features precise setpoint capability over a broad range of speeds starting at 0.5 rpm, making it ideal for super slow speed applications. The DR1000 monitors shaft speeds, detecting shaft slowdown with a 6.6% hysteresis. A DPDT (Double Pull Double Throw) control relay rated at 5 A at 30 VDC/120 VAC, serves as the output.

The UDS1000 is a reverse rotation switch, it is used to detect unwanted reverse rotation of monitored shaft. 

During operation, the UDS1000 energizes its 5 Amp, DPDT relay when the monitored shaft is at rest or turning in the desired direction of rotation. The relay contacts can be used to enable the motor starter circuit, or provide a visual indication that the start up or process commencement is possible. When the monitored shaft turns in reverse (wrong direction) the relay de-energizes, thus preventing the motor or process from starting.

The SS110 is completely field adjustable and has one setpoint for monitoring a single rotating shaft. It is used in slow speed applications and allows accurate under-speed detection within the 1/100-10 rpm range. The SS110 is an efficient way to continuously track proper machine rpm, and provide a relay output upon detection of an unwanted change in speed or stoppage of the monitored shaft.

SCP Series Switches are ideal for applications where speed indication for alarm and shutdown purposes is critical for safe and efficient equipment operation. The SCP1000 (single relay) and SCP2000 (double relay) feature rotary dials for precise setpoint adjustment and can be completely calibrated with the machinery at rest. Digital circuitry provides high accuracy, repeatability, and reliability. They are the industry standard for protecting bucket elevators, fans, airlocks, mixers, or virtually any rotating shaft, including overspeed sensing requirements.

PTU-1000 Test Unit
The PTU Test Unit can be used with the SCP Speed Switch to verify shaft speed or to simulate any unwanted condition for test purposes. Each SCP1000 and SCP2000 is equipped with a portable test jack for use with the PTU-1000. See the image with more information on the PTU-1000.
