The 1101 Hall Effect sensor has a non-threaded stainless steel body, is supplied with a mounting bracket and 10 ft of 3-conductor shielded cable. It is commonly used with pulser discs or 60 pulse/rev magnet wheels.

These speed sensors use magnet-sensing Hall Effect IC's to produce a digital pulse signal to interface with speed switches, tachometers, counters, signal conditioners, or PLC's. Hall Effect sensors provide true zero speed operation with square-wave output and immunity to electrical noise.

A pulser disc or split collar pulser wrap with embedded magnets is mounted on the monitored shaft. As the shaft rotates, the magnets pass in front of the sensor causing the sensor to switch high and low, thus producing a digital pulse output. The sensors provide a digital square wave signal with a 50/50 duty cycle when used with pulse generators that have evenly spaced magnets of alternating polarity, such as Electro-Sensors Model 255 Pulser Disc. The recommended gap distance between the sensor and pulse generator is 1/4 inch +/- 1/8 inch. The gap flexibility makes the sensors tolerant of vibration, shaft run-out, misalignment, and industrial environments.

  •   NPN open collector, square-wave output
  •   Zero speed operation with no signal loss
  •   Non-contact, large gap distance sensing
  •   Signal transmits up to 1,500 ft
  •   Simple to install and set up
  •   Powered by 5-24 VDC

The Electro-Sensors HE950 gear tooth sensor monitors gear teeth and other ferrous metal targets. The HE950 gear tooth sensor produces digital pulse signals for use with speed switches, tachometers, counters, signal conditioners, or as a direct pulse input into programmable controllers (PLCs). It incorporates a dual Hall Effect sensor and signal processing that switches in response to differential magnetic signals created by a ferrous target. Typical targets are gear teeth, keyways, or bolt heads, and the circuitry achieves true zero-speed operation down to zero Hz. Each sensor is entirely solid state with no moving parts to wear out, providing a low maintenance rugged and long-lasting sensor.

The HE950 sensors are powered by 5-24 VDC, provide an NPN open collector output and can be mounted up to 1,500 feet from the control unit. The standard HE950 sensor has a threaded aluminum, NEMA 4 housing and is supplied with an adjustable, plated-steel mounting bracket and 10 feet of 3-conductor shielded cable.

  • Senses broad range of ferrous target sizes
  • Senses a frequency range up to 12 kHz
  • Applications include Gear Tooth, Keyway, and Bolt Head Sensing
  • Full output down to zero Hz

The Traction Wheel Encoder Assembly consists of a rotary shaft encoder, the traction wheel, the mounting bracket hinge clamp assembly, and the mating connector. There are three models of traction wheels: black neoprene rubber, smooth polyurethane, and diamond knurled aluminum tread.

The traction wheel rides directly on the material being monitored and is ideal for slow speed applications. The wheel is connected to a rotary shaft encoder, which is supported by the mounting bracket. The encoder then generates a digital pulse frequency based on the number of pulses per revolution and the speed of the traction wheel. This digital signal is sent via the mating connector to a counter, ratemeter, or other control equipment.

  • A complete ready-to-install system
  • 1 to 1,270 pulses per revolution
  • Optional Bi-Directional models
  • Double traction wheel assembly
  • Specify pulses per revolution when ordering
